In Phakding, we will not miss our chance to visit Rimishung Monastery.

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar:

We will begin early in the morning at Phakding and move north along the banks of Dudh Koshi River, passing many suspension bridges -including Hillary Suspension Bridge. Our path also takes us through Monjo Village, deep forests, and rocky trails to Sagarmatha National Park Check Post, where we will register our permits and climb up into the forest. From this forest, you will see Mt. Everest for the first time. However, we will continue the trek until we reach Namche Bazaar - the destination for the day.

Day 5:Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar:

Today will be an acclimatization day at Namche. We recommend you to explore Namche Bazaar. This town contains numerous Wi-Fi-linked cafes, restaurants, souvenirs, and gear shops. There are other options - visit the Sagarmatha National Park visitor center, traditional Sherpa settlements, Hillary School, Khumjung monastery, Dingboche Airport, and Everest Hotel.

Day 6:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche:

We leave Namche Bazaar and head to Thame following Bhote Koshi and past the pine and rhododendron forests. On the way, you will also get to see the mud-plastered stupa at Phurte.

Day 7:Trek from Tengboceh to Perchie:

From Tengboche we start our day by descending through forests of birches, conifers and rhododendrons to the village of Devuche. From here the level trail passes many mani walls in a deep rhododendron forest. We will cross the Khumbu Khola river and arrive in Periche, which is a labyrinth of walls and pastures.

Day 8:Acclimatization day at Periche:

The most important thing to acclimatisation to high altitudes is a slow ascent. Therefore it is imperative that we spend an additional night at Pheriche to aid the acclimatisation process. From here we have tremendous views of Island Peak (6189m), the south face of Lothse and the south eastern face of Ama Dablam. After enjoying the views here we return back to Periche.

Day 9: Trek from Periche to Dughla:

The trail of today ascents the broad, gently sloping valley from Pheriche to Phalang Karpo at 4320m. In many places the trail crosses small streams on boulders. Beyond Phalang Karpo the trail climbs steeply onto the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, then joins the trail from Dingboche and contours down to a stream, crossing it on a bridge just before Duglha

Day 10:Trek from Dughla to Lobuche:

From Dughla the trail goes directly up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier for about an hour to the memorial area known as Chukpilhara, which was built in memory of six Sherpas who died in an avalanche during the 1970 Japanese skiing expedition on Everest. From here the trail drops a bit and follows the western side of the valley to Lobuche, a summer settlement at 4930m that has become a major trekking stop. The sunset on Nuptse, seen from here, is a memorable sight.

Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep:

The ascent becomes steeper and rougher as it crosses several side moraines. After rounding a bend in the trail, the conical peak of Pumori comes into view. On the lower slopes of this mountain a ridge extending to the south terminates in a small peak, known as Kala Pattar (5545m), meaning ‘black rock’. The trail then makes a short descent onto the sandy, flat expanse of Gorak Shep. From here we will continue to the current Everest base camp, which is about a 4 hours return walk from Gorak Shep. We will return to this small settlement after our visit to the base camp

Day 12:Trek from Gorakshep to Lobuche:

After an early morning rise we will start our day by climbing the Kala Pattar (5545m). This is a steep ascent up the grassy slopes west of Gorak Shep. From Kala Pattar the entire Everest south face is visible as well as Lho La (the pass between Nepal and Tibet, also named the Western Cwm), Changtse (the northern peak of Everest) and most of the West-Ridge route. We return to Gorak Shep and continue to descent to Lobuche.

Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to Dingboche:

To go to Dingboche we retrace our steps back to Dughla, and then go straight up the hill from the bridge to reach an upper trail, staying high above the valley floor. The views from here are great. You can easily recognise Island Peak and the top of Makalu is visible in the distance over the pass to the right of Island Peak. After passing a chorten we will descent to Dingboche, where we will stay the night

Day 14:Trek from Dingboche to Tengboche:

We descend the Imja Khola valley, trek through the village of Dingboche, famous for its stone-walled potatoes fields, alpine pastures, and continue forward. On the way, you will also see Kharkas (highland sheds) at Tsura, Orsho, and Shomare. As we continue our hike, we will reach Pangboche Village - the place for year-round settlement in the valley, and then to Tengboche.

Day 15:Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar:

The trail to Namche Bazaar takes us through forests inhabited by highland wildlife like pheasants, musk deer, mountain goats, or even snow leopards. We will be climbing on the steep slopes around which lie chortens and prayer flags. From the path, you can enjoy the view of the tip of Everest and the backside of Lhotse.

Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla:

Our final day of trekking will lead us back to Lukla. After breakfast, we will be hiking down a steep trail that descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge. However, we continue walking through several local villages in the Dudh Koshi River Valley until we reach Lukla. It is your sixteenth day of trekking, and your trekking is almost over. We hope you enjoyed the whole trek thoroughly.

Day 17:Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu:

If everything goes according to the schedule, we will be flying back to Kathmandu in the early morning on our seventh day of the trek. Your 40-minute flight back to Kathmandu will indeed be a relaxing one, and you most probably will be looking back at the time spent during the trek.
