The Mardi Himal Trekking adventure takes you to the base camp of Mardi Himal, right in the laps of Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre, dubbed Fish Tail Mountain.
Mardi Himal Trek is one of the most recently opened trekking trail of Nepal. Physically it is not challenge-able as other Himalayan base camps but it is inspirational, and exciting as other trek routes. Also, it is one of the most suitable trekking routes for the beginners. Trekking through Mardi Himal offers you an opportunity to explore and experience the fascinating view of the mountain range, alpine, forest, culture and lifestyle of the villagers. This trekking trails passes along 5 different major development committees.
Mardi Himal Trek is one of the unmarked treks where you could be able to experience real trekking and wild life without any compromises. Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu:
Arrive at Kathmandu International airport. Meet, welcome, and assist by our office representative & transfer to hotel. Welcome drink, followed by tour briefing. Get refreshed, free time for your own & Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2:Trek Preperation day in Bhaktapur:
A half-day sightseeing tour of UNESCO heritage site Bhaktapur includes different temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions. There is time to explore the city’s many places of interest on your own or take a rest while trekking permits are finalized. We will escort you with our trekking guide for program briefing of the trek.
Day3:Drive from Kathmandu to Dhampus:
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (220kms) takes about 7 hours.A typical Nepali lunch will be provided on the way. Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountaitains. Reaching Pokhara, we take a drive to Dhampus, the starting point of our trek.We can see a long Himalayan range that includes,Annapurna south, Mt Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Lamjung Himal and other peaks. Evening dinner/Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4 :Trek from Dhampus to Forest Camp
After breakfast we begin our trek.There is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail is through jungle, at first up then undulating on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over half way where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and then back onto the ridge and into Forest Camp (2600m) after about 4 hour trekking. After Lunch in Forest Camp, you will trek to Rest Camp (2605, 5-6 hours walking), overnight at Lodge.
Day 5:Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp.
The trail leaves Rest Camp again in the jungle, but the trees soon start to get smaller and after about one hours trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South to my left. The trail then undulates along the ridge and after about 5-6 hours trekking we arrived at High Camp (3550m). and then overnight at Lodge.
Day 6:Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp descend to Low Camp:
It is possible to continue trekking along the ridge for another 4 to 5 hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and return to High Camp in around 4 hours – This makes a long day but there is also a viewpoint about half way. And then overnight at Lodge.
Day 7:Trek from Low camo to Siding and drive back to Pokhara:
This day, we trek down to Siding. It takes around 5-6 hours trekking. Then we will drive from Siding to Pokhara by public Jeep or Bus, It is 4-hour drive to Pokhara. Rest of the day, free day in Pokhara.
Day 8: Rest day at Pokhara:
Early in the morning we will walk to Taal Barahi Temple.Then back to hotel for breakfast.Today we will explore some of the amazing places of Pokhara like Pumdikot, Davi’s falls,Gupteshwor cave and many more. We will also enjoy the Pokhara night life.
Day 9: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Early morning we will drive back to Kathmandu. Its 8 hours drive (200 kms) then we will check in at the Hotel in Thamel.Evening we will have leisure time Overnight stay.
Day 10:Kathmandu
