The Helambu trek is a short and easy trek nearby Kathmandu Valley which is start from Sundarijal. We pick up from your hotel in the morning and drive to the Sundarijal about an hour. Our trek begin from Sundarijal ascend up along the Shivapuri national park. As the trail ascends, you get to explore ancient villages, stupas decorated with colorful prayer flags, waterfalls, dense forests, and different species of flora & fauna. The region is home to many wildlife like musk deer, Himalayan tahr, Himalayan black beat, rhesus monkey and the langurs.
The Himalayan Mountains like Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Gangchenpo, and many others will add more beauty to the journey. During your stay with the locals, you will get to experience a cultural blend of Tibetan Sherpas and other communities.

Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu:
Arrive at Kathmandu International airport. Meet, welcome, and assist by our office representative & transfer to hotel. Welcome drink, followed by tour briefing. Get refreshed, free time for your own & Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2:Trek Preperation day in Bhaktapur:
A half-day sightseeing tour of UNESCO heritage site Bhaktapur includes different temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions. There is time to explore the city’s many places of interest on your own or take a rest while trekking permits are finalized. We will escort you with our trekking guide for program briefing of the trek.
Day 3:Drive from Kathmandu to Chisopani
Drive from Kathmandu to the Sundarijal northern edge of the Kathmandu valley and start to hike up to Mulkharka,. The trail continues on a gentle climb through the forests ridges before it drops down to Chisopani situated on the ridge from where you can see countless snow peaks. The sunrise on the Himalaya, from Annapurna to Everest, is particulary outstanding from this point. Stay overnight there .
Day 4:Trek from Chisopani to Gul Bhanjyang
The trail continues to drop down on a good, sometimes level and crosses meadows and fields to Pati Bhanjyang. At the upper end of this village the trail makes another steep, 200 meter, climb on a stone staircase to the top of the Jhogin Danda ridge.
Day 5:Trek from Gul Bhanjyang to Tharepati
From Gul Bhanjyang the first part of the trail climbs up a steep, eroded trail through rhododendron forest passing only a few shepherd’s huts to a pass at 2580 meter. The treks proceeds north up the Yurin Danda ridge and affords views of Langtang and Gosaikund Peaks.
Day 6:Trek from Tharepati to Melamchigaon
From the northeren end of the village the trail turns east and drops steeply into a ravine. Here the vegetation changes to large firs, then oaks and rhododendrons, as we rapidly loos altitude. After crossing the Chhyadi Khola on a suspension bridge, the trail makes a short final ascent to the prosperous Sherpa village of Malamchigaon at 2530m. We will arrive here early and the rest of today’s time can be spent strolling around the village.
Day 7:Trek from Melamchigaon to Tarke Gyang
From the Melamchigaon gompa, the trail descends through jungle to a bamboo teashop at 2360 meter, then drops steeply through fields to the Malemchi Khola river. After crossing thesuspension bridge at 1890m the trail begins its long climb towards Tarke Gyang, which is the largest village in the Helambu region.
Day 8: Trek from Tarke Gyan to Sermathang
The trail leaves the village and makes a sweep around the wide valley to the pretty Sherpa village of Ganyul at 2520 meter. We continue our way passing the large gompa at Chumnik, before another gentle climb leads as to the village of Sermathang. In the afternoon we can visit the gompa here (4 hrs).
Day 9:Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and drive to Kathmandu:
From Sermathang the trail follows the ridge all the way down to Malemchi Pul Bazaar, making a drop of 1730 meter. The trail passes chorten after chorten in the settlements of Nigale, Gyalsha and Raithani Gyang. Continuing further down the ridge our trail will eventually bring us to a large suspension bridge which crosses the Indrawati river and brings us into Malemchi Pul Bazaar. From here we will take private transportation back to Kathmandu.
Day 10: Rest day at Pokhara:
Early in the morning we will walk to Taal Barahi Temple.Then back to hotel for breakfast.Today we will explore some of the amazing places of Pokhara like Pumdikot, Davi’s falls,Gupteshwor cave and many more. We will also enjoy the Pokhara night life.
Day 11: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Early morning we will drive back to Kathmandu. Its 8 hours drive (200 kms) then we will check in at the Hotel in Thamel.Evening we will have leisure time Overnight stay.
Day 12:Kathmandu
